New Look

October 11th, 2001

This site has been re-designed, at long last, after several incarnations in what seems like another time. In fact, the events of recent date had made me all but forget I was even working on it. I had, in hindsight, considered abandoning the “idea” all together. But as cliche and unimportant as a vanity page really is, it’s ever more important to stay connected and to not let fear get the best of us. When I woke up finding myself in history, like everybody else, I found myself wanting to somehow go back. Seeing now that that’s not going to happen, we must do the only thing we can—continue on with our lives.

I am, of course, wholly concerned with the state of our country. Don’t let the whimsy of the Kool-Aid aesthetics fool you. My wife is a commuting graduate student in the DC area and arrived just six miles from the Pentagon when it was attacked on September 11. It’s been hard to deal with and could quickly escalate to greater proportions. But we’ve both decided not to let that change the course of our lives. In these times, we must all learn to take tiny, if not significant, leaps of faith. I know I have. And maybe that’s how we can all become better in the wake of a such heinous act against America.

Let us know what you think, of course, of our new design or anything else. And, as always, keep coming back for more of whatever it is you’re interested in. We hope there are lots of improvements. I know my audience is small and most folks just visit to see how Liz and I are doing. I promise to try to keep up with that a little bit better this time around. And to my my family and friends, I promise to spend more time with you as well.

Welcome to the new look. I hope you like it.
