Translation to English Please
March 9th, 2002My Finnish to English is pretty weak these days. Anybody know what the heck this says?
I’ll assume it’s something nice, but since I can definitely make out the mentioning of Netscape 4.7, nice might not be such a safe bet.
In other much more belated news, last weekend I was able to commute to Washington DC with my wife, Liz, so she could conclude one of her weekend graduate classes. While she was at class, I met with a buddy of mine from age 6 to discuss a creative project that we’ve slowly been brewing over low heat and ASCII text. The very thought of it makes me tingle.
This buddy of mine works on the Hill (that’s Capitol Hill), specifically in the Cannon building, one of the huge white buildings connected through an underground tunnel system to the Capitol building. His account of an early September morning exodus, as well as the post 9/11 concrete barricades permeating the streets and building parameters, were sober reminders to me. If anyone thinks that American government has not been affected by the attacks on the Pentagon and WTC, they need only visit the nation’s capitol for a dose of reality.
And life goes on, as it should.
While I was in the area, I did get a chance to make it out to one of the conveniently located Apple retail stores. There, I saw first-hand the new iMac and iPod.
Simple, elegant, genius encased in white plastic.
