Candy Coated Apple

June 20th, 2002

I went to my very first Mac user group meeting ever last night. Despite the apparent group decision to mis-pronounce Mac OS X (that’s 10) as Mac OS ex, there seemed to be technical information aplenty in a room filled with ripe, wise, and curiously questioning Mac users. So much so that the burning CD demonstration went on for over three hours, ending far too close to my bedtime. Although I doubt that I’ll attend another meeting due to the time constraint, I was encouraged at this meeting by the gentleman sitting next to me. About my age, and coincidentally also a professional web designer, he admitted to me his one month “switcher” status with some definite pride.

Nice to see the marketing at work.

Oh, and in belated news — this ridiculous looking picture (that’s me in the back) is from last weekend’s exciting and action-packed excursion to nearby Hersheypark. Liz and I took some friends along with us, known in certain circles as Scooter and Kara with a “K”. ‘Sup y’all?!
