iTunes, Therefore I Groove

When George Dubya recently announced that the economy was “fundamentally strong,” he must have been making his judgment based on the proliferation of free software arriving to the Mac platform these days.

The number one free application from Apple, though, has still got to be iTunes. And the most recent update to it definitely proves that three time’s a charm. I have become particularly enamored by the smart playlist feature, which conveniently converts playlists from pull down selection boxes a la mail rules. It’s the perfect way to help a busy person like myself (and by that I mean lazy person like myself) create automatic music variety. The “spoken word” support from Audible.com is also a welcomed feature, although I have not been able to use it yet.

Yes, I think this update may even push me to dream a little harder about that sweet object of desire, the iPod, as well.
