Black Weekend
Unintentionally, we kind of made this our Jack Black weekend excursion. Our marathon of the charismatic performer included:
- Orange County – A senseless movie starring the son of Tom Hanks. Jack is great in his part (the catrasophe causing, yet good-natured, drug addict brother of the main character) but the movie fails to go anywhere.
- Shallow Hal – I liked this movie. It proves once again that the Farrelly brothers are not afraid to take risks. They often gravitate to comedies with a tragic human undertone, despite the overshadowing effect of their pathologically irreverent sense of humor.
- Saturday Night Live – One of the best guests of the season, this rerun got Tenacious D‘s “Hornet’s Nest” back in my head. Not that it’s such a good thing for me. But a whole lotta good fun.
