Earache My Eye

Liz woke up this morning experiencing an ache in her left ear. Thinking it was something only to be mildly watched, I kissed her good-bye and left for work. However, when I came home for lunch she was still feeling some discomfort, this time closer to her neck. We both thought at this point it might be an infection, so she called herself in to go see our family doctor.

What happened next was pretty freaky-deaky. With her special-medical-ear-vision-thingy, the doctor noticed what looked to her to be a feather in my wife’s ear canal. Carefully removing the obstruction with some long tweezers, sure enough the culprit turned out to be a tiny white feather, perhaps from one of our pillows or the feather down comforter covering our bed.

She’s okay now, albeit a little weirded-out at the thought of such an incident occuring, as is everyone I’ve had a chance to tell this story. Let that be a lesson to all the feather pillow lovers out there. I know I’ll be resting my head on a rock from now on.

Ah, the sobokawa. You know, we actually have one of those. Or rather, I got Liz one years ago and she gave it to me after she didn’t like it. Guess who’s sleeping better because of it.

See, another good reason to have a SOBAKAWA (as seen on TV) pillow. Then she won’t have to worry about feathers, but organic buckwheat hulls instead. ;-) Maybe that’s what I keep hearing rattle when I walk around… gotta get that checked out.

PS In all seriousness, the Sobakawa is a great pillow. Just thought you should know.
