Quiet Please
I absolutely love my G4 dualie. Having a new flat screen monitor that sweetly powers up and sleeps the CPU with the light touch of my finger is so sweet too.
But the son of a bitch is really honkin’ loud.
Thankfully, Apple started an exchange program to replace the loud parts with much quieter ones in a gesture of “we stand behind our product” or more accurately “please don’t file a class action law suit against us, kay?”
Whatever the reason, I’m happy to see any company doing the right thing. Now that I finally have the new parts here and somewhat ready to go, all I have to do is weather the 17 pages of instructions to have a quieter computer.
I can see this turning into one of those weekend projects that continually calls my name—maybe a few times around.
